2023 Competition Details

Schedule

• CALL TIME: 7:30am (Be in the band room with uniform and instrument at 7:30am).

• 8:20am Uniform Inspection and load buses.

• 8:30am Busses depart for Downtown Littleton.

• 9:00am Warm-up and basics in Gallup Park (beginning of parade).

• 10:00am Parade starts.

• 12:30pm Parade should be over-congratulations!

• 1:00pm Get Water, Load Buses and return to CCHS.

Parade Info and Map

• The parade route goes down Littleton Blvd. (from Gallup St.) and ends at Arapahoe Community College. We recommend parents park at ACC and walk to Main St./Littleton Blvd. and find a good spot to watch.

Schedule: 

Your band member should eat breakfast before coming to CCHS in the morning and should also bring lunch. Only dinner will be provided. Everyone needs to wear this year’s band shirt under the uniform.

• 8:30 am Practice at GV

• 10:15 am Back to Fine Arts to eat early lunch and change into uniform

• 11:00 am Inspection

• 11:15 am Depart for Adams 5-Star Stadium (9351 Washington St, Thornton,  CO 80229)

• 12:40 pm Body Warm-up Time

• 1:00 pm Pit Warm-up Time

• 1:15 pm Music Warm-up Time

• 2:00 pm Prelims Performance Time

• 2:30 pm Change out of uniform

• 3:00 pm-4:15 pm Watch other bands perform

• 4:30 pm Retreat/awards (Drum Majors Only)

• 4:45 pm Return to Busses to eat dinner (provided) or change back into uniform depending on our finals performance time. If we place in the top 12 we will perform at Finals.  If not, we’ll return to CCHS after dinner.

• 5:30 pm Finals begin!!  Our performance time depends on our Prelims placement.

• 9:15 pm Retreat/Awards (Drum Majors Only)

• 9:30 pm Return to CCHS

Spectator Information: The Legacy Marching Band Festival is on Saturday 23, 2023 at Adams 12 Five Star Stadium, 9351 Washington Street, Thornton, CO 80229.

• Advance purchase tickets are available online via GoFan at: https://gofan.co/event/708084?schoolId=CO68954_1  Advance purchase will allow you to bypass the ticket window as there will be a separate table to redeem your on-line purchase for an admission wristband. Advance purchased tickets are non-refundable.

• There are numerous parking lots for the equipment trucks and buses. Your band has been assigned to specific lots on the east side of Washington Street, close to the stadium. Those assignments for buses and trucks are on the website and have been conveyed to your Director.

• All spectator parking is on the WEST side of Washington Street. Signs will direct you to the numerous parking lots. Note the GoogleMaps directions will take you to the back (east) side of the stadium off 95th street, THIS IS NOT CORRECT and you will be forced to turn around and to back down Washington to the spectator lots. I apologize for this mis-information but we've been unable to get it corrected so far. Refer to the Overview Map on the website for spectator parking locations.

• Note some of these lots are some distance away from the stadium and ALL will require you to take the overpass over busy Washington Street, so please tell your parents to allow 30-45 minutes to get from parking to being seated in the stadium. We don't want them to miss their student's performance.

A Note About Parking: Parking is limited to ONLY handicapped parking in the area of the stadium and parents and staff should plan on arriving with enough time before performances to walk from the parking available within ½ mile of the stadium at marked businesses and at Angevine Middle School or the Community Medical Center just .8 miles east of the stadium on South Boulder Road.

Info about the Competition:

The final marching band competition is Saturday October 28th at the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Spectators will enter via the North Gate Entrance (Exit 156 off of I25). All drivers and passengers over the age of 16 must produce a valid driver’s license.  Allow yourself time to enter the USAFA and please review the website.

Finally, an important message from CBA: Unfortunately, there are no livestream options for the Colorado State Marching Band competition and there has been a report of a livestream offering on Facebook.  Please note that this is a SCAM, and that CBA events are not live streamed.
